Pollution and moisture infiltration effect assessment based on data-driven analysis for aircraft heritage protection

The paper deals with monitoring and analyzing the indoor environmental parameters through remote data collection to evaluate pollution moisture infiltration effects on aircraft heritage conservation. First, based meteorological data, penetration airborne into spaces of a site (hangar) stored historic aircrafts are determined. hangar under investigation is located in Aviation museum Kbely, Prague, Czech Republic. determination performed by wet/dry cycles (fluctuations) evaluation applying ISO 11844 methodology outdoor interior. Next, time wetness (ToW) determined indoors according 9223, rather as an than surface parameter dewing exceeding high humidity level (approxl RH 80% at T >0 °C) considered. actual adsorption onto polluted surfaces artifacts then dependent hygroscopic corrosion products developed. Such prolongs ToW. In addition ToW, even deposition rate pollutants, particularly sulphur dioxide chlorides, considered atmosphere corrosivity estimated standardized statistical models for aluminium. resulting iso-corrosivity figures out aggressiveness environment from point view material susceptibility degradation.
